Research suggests the magnitude 6.0 earthquake that rocked California wine country in 2014 may have been caused by an expansion of Earth’s crust because of seasonally receding groundwater under the Napa and Sonoma valleys.

The vineyard-filled valleys flank the West Napa Fault, which produced the quake that killed one person, injured several hundred and caused more than $500 million in losses.

The study recently published in the American Geophysical Union’s “Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth” suggests land between the valleys is stretched each summer as groundwater levels fall beneath the valleys and the ground in the valleys sinks and contracts.

The amount of the horizontal stretching measured is tiny — about 0.12 inch — but enough to stress faults, according to the researchers.

“We think it’s more of a localized effect, something related to the groundwater system. We don’t know if it is groundwater pumping specifically, or something related to how the natural aquifer system works, or a combination,” said lead author Meredith Kraner, formerly of the Department of Geosciences at Stony Brook University in New York and now with the University of Nevada, Reno.

Co-authors were William E. Holt of Stony Brook University and Adrian A. Borsa of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego.

The early morning Napa quake on Aug. 24 was the largest to hit the Bay Area since the magnitude 6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake on Oct. 17, 1989.

The Napa quake left 8 miles of surface rupture and damaged many historical masonry buildings and older residences, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It all started with Nikola Tesla and his miraculous discoveries and inventions. We now have AC electrical current in our homes instead of the inefficient DC because of Tesla’s genius.

Lake County News,California | Award winning, independent local news – Geysers Geothermal Association gets updates on Anderson Springs wastewater project, Geysers pipeline

Geysers Geothermal Association gets updates on Anderson Springs wastewater project, Geysers pipeline

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County Special Districts Administrator Jan Coppinger was the guest speaker at the fall Geysers Geothermal Association dinner on Nov. 16.

She reported on the Anderson Springs wastewater project. The Lake County Board of Supervisors signed a contract for construction of the collection system earlier this month.

The contract to actually build the facilities for each individual property including the grinder pump and holding tanks for the first 100 properties will go out to bid in the spring of 2018.

The Anderson Springs Community Alliance will host a community meeting on Jan. 27 at 1 p.m. the Middletown Community Center for updates on the wastewater collection system, warning sirens, emergency exit and other issues of community concern.

The focus of Coppinger’s presentation explained how Lake County’s recycled water pipeline to The Geysers has benefited Lake County users and replenished and stabilized the steam decline of the world’s single-largest geothermal resource developed for electric generation.

The recycled water is treated wastewater (secondary treatment standard) from four wastewater treatment plants which serve 10 communities and conveys 85 percent of Lake County wastewater for stem production.

All of the effluent from the following plants is captured and conveyed to The Geysers:

– Northwest Regional wastewater treatment plant, population 8,903;
– Southeast Regional wastewater treatment plant, population 13,008;
– Clearlake Oaks wastewater treatment plant, population 2,500;
– Middletown wastewater treatment plant, population 869.

Lake County provides an average of 5,000 gallons of treated effluent per minute to Northern California Power Agency and Calpine’s operations at The Geysers.

The city of Santa Rosa Geysers Recharge Project from Sonoma County contributes 12,000 gallons per minute.

The contract Lake County Special Districts has to supply effluent to The Geysers guarantees a consistent amount of flow with the projected 20 years expected population growth initially allowing “make up water” to be drawn from Clear Lake.

However, with the housing collapse of 2008 and the fires of 2015 and 2016, draws from Clear Lake have remained high except for periods of California’s drought which caused reductions in water from Clear Lake.

During the heavy rains and flooding in January and February, the Lake County Sanitation District maximized flows of recycled water to The Geysers to avoid spilling from the treatment reservoirs that were overloaded due to the flooding.

Voris Brumfield is president of the Anderson Springs Community Alliance.

San Francisco – Mental Health to EXPAND and Identify MORE Mentally ill people. . . LOOK OUT!

Insider comment:

People are being intentionally targeted and becoming disaster refugees, as a result of economic and weather weapons.  The numbers of home-less people are exploding, and we know displacement will cause mental stress.  We, also, know that many targeted individuals that are directly tortured by the deep state of gang-stalkers, bullying, and tortured by directed energy weapons are homeless.  These people will likely become lost within this expanded and “forced” mental health system while being involuntarily held and drugged.

Further, the lack of housing along with increased rental costs and lower paying jobs will force more homeless people into living on the streets, in vehicles, RV’s, tents and in the bushes.  More and more people are being targeted and now soon more people will be defined as mentally ill and held, for their own safety, in Big Pharma institutions while being chemically treated by Big Pharma trained providers that prescribe mind altering drugs.

A word of caution to ALL of us that are aware of agendas being set upon the global populations!  The word conspiracy is put forth in the general population as people with delusional theories.  It will become increasingly dangerous to voice your concerns to those people that are trapped in the FAKE REALITY.  So, take it easy with HOW you voice reality – because you and we may think those people need to know the truth and facts so we can save them from being victimized, BUT we could become the victims through their ignorance!

Look at this as an opportunity and polish up on how you present information to those that are still unconscious.

Most importantly, watch out after your friends that are understanding the evils we face, and get ready to assist should they get kidnapped, drugged and forced into mental prisons by those imposing and expanding rules of legal incarceration. .

SACRAMENTO — San Francisco officials would have more control over who can be involuntarily held for mental-health treatment, under a bill to expand conservatorship laws that is headed to Gov. Jerry Brown.

The state Senate passed SB1045 by Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, in a 39-0 vote on Thursday. The Assembly passed it 61-0 on Wednesday.

The governor has not indicated whether he will approve the bill, which allows the Boards of Supervisors in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles counties to create five-year pilot programs that expand conservatorship rules.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Rafael Mandelmantestified in support of the bill at the state Capitol earlier this year, saying the city needed more power to help chronically homeless people suffering from both mental illness and substance abuse.

Wiener said that even the bill’s expanded criteria would apply to only 1 percent of San Francisco’s homeless population.
